A CHILD’S PRAYER

November 14, 2010

“Whosoever shall receive one of such children
in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall
receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent
me.” (Mark 9:37) But whoso shall offend one
of these little ones which believe in me, it were
better for him that a millstone were hanged
about his neck, and that he were drowned in
the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6)

A CHILD’S CRY

“Jesus, I lift my hands to You, Lord.
Mom says I can call on Your name.
I can ask, and You’ll forgive me,
and You’ll take away the blame.

“Jesus, You know about growing up.
You once crawled and walked and ran.
You were tempted, but You never sinned.
You fulfilled Your Daddy’s plan.

That’s why I want to be like You, Jesus!
You’re my Hero. You’re so strong.
When I hide in You, You’ll protect me
and keep me safely from all wrong.
Amen.” R.A.Riel

A LITTLE LEAVEN

November 14, 2010

“Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven
leaveneth the whole lump?” (1 Corinthians 5:6)

A LITTLE LEAVEN

“What does leaven mean?”
asked Joshua to his Mom one day.
“It’s very easy, my dear son,
pay close attention to what I say.

“A little leaven, leavens the whole lump
like yeast Mom puts into her bread.
And when it rises, it becomes a loaf.
You eat it, Josh, that’s what you’re fed.

“The yeast is like a little lie.
It says a word that isn’t true.
That lie gets covered by another.
You know just what I mean, don’t you?

“When you tell me, ‘Mom, wait a minute,’
and you make me wait not one but two,
you didn’t keep your word, you see.
What you said then sure wasn’t true.

“If you get used to saying fibs,
like ‘A little lie won’t hurt,’ you say,
but pretty soon you believe your lies.
Be careful, son, don’t go astray!

“It only takes a little crack
for water to break through the dike
and soon that crack will open wide.
The flood that comes, no one will like.

“If we ask our Father in Jesus’ name
to help us speak the truth each day,
He’ll keep us from deceiving others.
The truth will never lead astray.

“The Truth is Jesus. He’s our Lord.
He can not lie to us at all.
His Spirit helps to understand
and to repent each time we fall.

ALIVE!

November 14, 2010

ALIVE!

He’s alive, give Him glory, glory;
Jesus died in our stead.
Many have not heard the story
they think God is still dead!

Jesus rose from His tomb
full of power, full of might!
Satan’s kingdom was defeated
he was no match for the fight!

God’s alive in our spirit,
if we invite Jesus in to stay.
Cry out, “Make me like You, Jesus,
take the reins, lead the way!”

He’s alive! Alleluia!
With all might! He is Power!.
Come, let’s tell Jesus’ story
to all nations at this hour!

He’s alive in His Word,
in His Name as we pray.
He commissions us to tell
our families, friends,
the world each day.

He’s alive and is searching
for folks that are true.
That will spend time in prayer,
loving Him. Will you?

ARE YOU WISE?

November 14, 2010

ARE YOU WISE?
(Matthew 7:24-27)

Whitey and Joey were friends from their youth.
They met each other at school.
As the years passed by, Whitey got wise,
while Joey became, – Yes, a FOOL!

Joey built his house upon sand.
Throughout life’s drama, he played the clown.
When the winds blew, Joey finally knew
that his house would soon topple down!

Though he built it strong and secured all its walls,
through foolish work a man can’t win;
for the rains descended, undermined the foundation,
and Joey’s house caved in!

Whereas, Whitey’s house was built on the Rock!
Where neither winds nor floods could destroy;
for the Rock is Jesus,
and the storms are life’s troubles,
and the house is our life to enjoy.

When we build our lives upon Jesus,
we’re winners because He guides our hand.
When we study his Word,
pray and do what He says,
our house is on Rock not on sand.

Should the trials in life assail us,
there’s no fear for victory’s complete.
We’ve learned to trust,
and of course, that’s a must.
Captain Jesus knows no defeat!

REFLECTION TIME!
Jesus is the Rock on which we stand.
(De 32:4,15; 2 Sam 22:3; 1 Cor. 10:4)

ATHEIST

created.”(Genesis 1:1).
Jesus created. (Col. 1:16; Jn. 1:3, 10;
Eph. 3:9; Heb. 1:10) “For the invisible things
of him from the creation of the world are clearly
seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and God-head;
so that they are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).

ATHEIST

The first five words from the Word of God
tell us Who created everything.
We see the Creator in all of creation.
Hosanna to God we sing!

How can one say, “God doesn’t exist?”
when there’s a designer in all we see?
The beauty, the awesome of God’s creation
was not placed there haphazardly.

Look at your watch that shows you time
from its intricate parts inside.
Can anyone say, “Pieces evolved that way?”
unless Truth is what one tends to hide!

Look at the moon, the stars and the sun.
by God’s Word, they’re held up so high.
Can we deny God, His Almighty power
that’s so evident in the sky?

When God made man and gave him a soul,
that soul will never die.
By grace through faith it will go to Heaven
or burn if it’s God we deny.

Our Creator came to die for our soul;
His blood, the ransom for sin.
Repent and believe in Jesus always;
keep trusting ‘til we reach Heaven’s Inn.

BRIDE

November 14, 2010

“Blessed are they which are called
Unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.”
(Revelation 19:9)

BRIDE

“I hear the Lord calling me in whispers soft and sweet.
He’s telling me some secrets that in my heart I keep.

He’s telling me He loves me. He’s telling me He cares.
Repeatedly, He tells me of the happiness we’ll share.

Oh! He must really love me as to call me to His side.
I hear him calling from deep within,
“Come be My eternal bride!”
R.A.Riel at the age of 14.

“…for the marriage of the Lamb is come,
and his wife hath made herself ready”
(Revelation 19:7)

CREATION

November 14, 2010

CREATION, SIN, and REDEMPTION
THEME OF THE BIBLE:

The first five words of the Bible are
“In the beginning God created.”
The creation is so perfect and so good and yet,
Esau earth dwellers scoff. That’s why they are hated.

That perfection was defiled when sin entered in.
Restoration to perfection could only come from God.
In giving us a perfect plan of redemption,
God redeemed us by the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.

There are none righteous, no, not one.
In every nation, man is tainted with sin.
No matter how hard we work for salvation,
there’s nothing we can do to cleanse the putrid filth within.

Jesus did it all for us in His love and mercy.
All that’s left is a small measure of faith to believe.
Even that measure, we don’t have within us.
We trust God to provide it, so we won’t be deceived.

Except for the remnant, few follow the Lamb.
Wherever He goes, His true Church takes a stand.
They dared to come out of the fallen, apostate church
to remain in that perfect place, the Master’s hand.

Reflection:

THEME OF THE BIBLE: CREATION, SIN, and REDEMPTION

The first five words of the Bible are “In the beginning God created.” All was
created perfect, and God called it good. That perfection was defiled when sin entered in.
Restoration to that perfection was made in God’s perfect plan of redemption, when He
bought us back.
According to the Word of God, all men and women born from Adam and Eve
are lost and separated from God because of sin. There are none righteous, no, not one.
God, in His love and mercy, has made a provision for man’s lost condition and separation
from Him. That provision is only found in believing the Gospel (good news). The good
news is found in (1 Cor. 15:1-4). All religions of the world deny God’s only provision
for man’s redemption by adding their works to the finished work of Jesus Christ at the
Cross, except for the remnant few individuals who follow the Lamb wherever
He goes. They are the true Church of God that have come out of the majority
of the churches that have fallen apostate.
“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the
law” (Rom. 3:28) “Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles?
Yes, of the Gentiles also” (29).

DARE TO DO RIGHT

November 14, 2010

“Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem.” (2 Kings 22:1a). He destroyed the altars where sacrifices were done to pagan gods, destroyed all the high places.
“And like unto him (Josiah) was there no king before him that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him” (2 Kings 23:25).

DARE TO DO RIGHT!

One thing I just can’t understand
why Truth prevails not in our land.
We have so much and have no need (Phil. 4:19)
and yet, we’re filled with lust and greed. Why?

“Help me to know Thy heart, Oh God,
and, Father, please know me, too, LORD.
GRATITUDE, I pray, please give to me.
today, tomorrow and eternally.”

Christians surely all agree
that it’s God’s Son that sets us free.
But why, as Bereans, won’t we search to know
if what is preached, God told us so? (Acts 17:11)

God gave His Son. How Great Thou Art!.
Have we gratitude tucked in our heart?
Ten lepers came to be healed one day,
and our Lord healed them right away

Sometimes we pray for God to heal
then glorify medicine for how good we feel.
If Jesus hadn’t paid, it would never be so.
It was Our Savior that took each blow. (Isa. 53:5-6; Mat. 8:17)

Jesus told the lepers who they should see.
He needed to test their fidelity.
As they obeyed, glory! They were healed!
What a gift, folks! What a deal!

Free to finally return home that day!
As each went on his separate way.
Only one turned back to say, “Thank you.”
One out of ten, how sad, yet, true.

“Dear, Father, in Jesus’ name, I pray.
Give me a grateful heart today.
You always help me in all I do.
Please help me always give thanks to You !” Amen
